Our Work

Lifelong Learning

At Boundless, we’re all about making lifelong learning accessible and enjoyable for everyone! Studies show that keeping our minds active and learning new things throughout life can really help boost our self-esteem and make us feel happier, more optimistic, and confident in ourselves. Plus, it can be a wonderful support for anyone dealing with mental health challenges.

Our goal is to engage adults with learning disabilities (AWLD) in fun and inspiring activities that help them learn new skills and discover exciting opportunities-all whilst having a great time! By joining in with our arts, health and wellbeing activities, they can:

How our arts and wellbeing
activities can help AWLD.

  • Discover helpful tools to manage stress and express their emotions positively.
  • Enhance their verbal and non-verbal communication skills through group interactions and creative activities.
  • Make new friends, practice teamwork, and connect with others.
  • Work on practical life skills like time management, planning, and problem-solving.

  • Improve fine and gross motor skills through activities such as painting, dance, and yoga.
  • Foster independence and self-reliance by making choices and taking ownership of their work.

  • Celebrate their successes and build self-confidence.

Arts for wellbeing

Research shows that engaging in creative activities like painting, crafts, music, dance, and theatre is a fantastic way to boost mental and physical wellbeing. Our Arts for Wellbeing workshops and projects are created with everyone in mind, and we welcome all experience levels! Whether it’s dancing for fitness, making art for mindfulness, or performing to connect with others, we want to make sure there’s something for everyone!

We’re excited to announce that we’ve just launched our pilot arts for wellbeing club especially for adults with learning disabilities. For Making’s Sake is a fun and inclusive space where you can let your creativity shine. You will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of arts and crafts activities, such as printmaking, collage, painting, drawing, clay work, textiles, and nature-inspired art. It’s the perfect place to express yourself, learn new skills, and meet like-minded people.

Whether you’re passionate about arts and crafts, or you are new to it all, we would love you to join us. If you’re unsure about your skills or creativity, don’t worry—we’re here to help you build confidence and find your creative spark.

If you would love to attend, you can download an application form from our Take Part page, and once that’s been completed and returned to us you can book via our Events Page.

Health & wellbeing

Managing stress and anxiety, enjoying a nutritious diet, staying safe, getting active, engaging with your community, and connecting with your peers are all important ways to take care of your health and well-being! We aim to offer activities, advice, and guidance that enhance mental and physical health, boost wellbeing and encourage healthy lifestyles. We also want to create safe and inclusive spaces where AWLD can try out activities like yoga, tai chi, mindfulness, and meditation.

Exhibitions, live performances
and events

We’re working towards showcasing the amazing creative talents of adults with learning disabilities (AWLD), and celebrating their wonderful contributions through exhibitions, performances, and public events. Boundless is not just an arts and wellbeing hub, we aim to spark social change! Through our events we also aim to amplify the voices of AWLD and raise awareness about the barriers they face. We believe in the strength of collective action and shared experiences to build understanding, form connections, and challenge misconceptions.

Enterprise and Employability Skills

At Boundless we want to support adults with learning disabilities (AWLD) to thrive by getting involved in inspiring activities where they learn skills, discover new opportunities, and explore pathways to training and employment. By focusing on empowerment, skill-building, and advocacy, we aim to introduce enterprise initiatives where AWLD can gain real-world skills in a supportive and inclusive setting. Through community partnerships, we also hope to partner AWLD with mentors in the arts or business sectors to expand their networks and skills. We aim to offer a range of opportunities including work experience, internships, voluntary and paid positions.

We’re thrilled to be launching our Enterprise and Employability Skills projects very soon! While we’re getting everything ready, you can help shape our projects!
